About
As a Florida native, John Starrett grew up in the water. From surfing to free diving, he has always been immersed in the water culture and water man lifestyle. It is because of this love affair with all things liquid he has used his imagery to raise awareness of our dying Florida Springs and our vanishing marine life; both within salt and fresh water environments. He continues to work with several conservation agencies and groups, in hopes to inspire future generations to carry on in the efforts to protect and nurture our marine waterways, lakes and oceans.
John is skilled in many aspects of photography ranging from upscale weddings and fine-art to commercial shoots. With a niche in lifestyle photography, John uses his creativity and skill to create eye catching content for his clients. He has had the opportunity to create and provide images for some of the industry's leading brands such as Yolo Board, Isle Surf and Paddle Co, Flogrown and many others.
In John's unique ability to create imagery to stand out in a crowd he has been able to make himself indispensable to his clients. Once hired to create photographic content he is typically sought after in future projects so that the particular client/brand can maintain a certain aesthetic in their imagery throughout their promotions and marketing.
John has worked with several Tourist Development offices throughout the Florida Panhandle to help promote and build tourism in their county's such as Jackson County, Santa Rosa County and Gulf County. He custom tailors shoots to fit his client’s specific needs, goals and budgets. He is personally invested in the Sunshine State and thrives within it’s vast wilderness areas, waterways and the lifestyle that comes with it. From product photography in the studio to an assignment deep within the swamps of the Everglades John Starrett will always come back with beautiful eye-catching images to stay fresh in the minds of all who see them.
